You would need to fall in love with a character, an event, even a period of history before you can begin. Sometimes overly verbose paragraphs can seem detached, disenchanted, but if you really adore something to the point that years of love, tears, hatred, insanity, happiness and life appear to be behind it, the reader will get the perfervid intentions and love them with you. Books are paper lives.
